Our research is grounded in a shared commitment to wellbeing, connection, and creating positive change. Across the network, members are working on projects that respond to complex challenges and explore new possibilities for thriving communities. We bring diverse knowledges and skill sets into conversation, creating space for collaboration across disciplines, sectors and communities. This means our research is both thoughtful and practical – shaped by ideas, relationships, and a desire to make a meaningful difference.
On this page, explore our current projects, learn more about the kinds of research we do, and see where there may be opportunities to connect, contribute or collaborate.
Te Hotonga Hapori – Connecting Communities is about the wellbeing of communities and qualities of a neighbourhood that affect people's wellbeing. It will also compare people's wellbeing in urban communities where there is major housing redevelopment to the wellbeing of people living in communities unaffected by redevelopment.
The programme focuses on women, women’s health, fertility, brain, nutrition, neuroendocrine and female athlete optimisation. We want to investigate the intricate relationship between hormones and concussion outcomes, which is essential for developing targeted interventions and improving the wellbeing of females, who may experience unique hormonal responses after concussions.
METHOD is a resource written for students, researchers and practitioners whose work sits at the intersection between design and health. It is built on research undertaken by two design-led research labs, one in the UK and another in NZ, who have dedicated the last two decades to building an understanding of the role that design research plays in the broader context of health and wellbeing.
We welcome opportunities to connect with communities, partners, and collaborators who share our interest in reimagining what is possible together. Whether you are interested in our research, want to explore a partnership, or would like to attend an upcoming event, we invite you to get in touch and be part of the conversation.
